BACKGROUND ON WAGGLEFORCE
How WaggleForce Began?
WaggleForce was founded in October, 2009 by Tory Johnson – CEO of Women for Hire and Career Guru / Workplace Contributor for Good Morning America. After starting pilot career clubs around the country for a year, Tory and her team gathered best practices based on what worked well in communities to empower people back to work. She used this collective knowledge and information to form WaggleForce.
What WaggleForce is:
- A national network of local career clubs.
- A community-based initiative that inspires a nation back-to-work one job seeker at a time…with the support of a small team of dedicated participants.
- A 10-week interactive career club, meeting face-to-face, that empowers members to transform themselves from helpless to hopeful to hired.
- A rigorous, demanding, disciplined program where members are accountable not only to themselves but to everyone in their career club as well.
- Positive energy and proactive steps that lead each club to promising results.
- A proven buddy system for job search success, based on enormously successful pilot programs.
- Rooted in redefining job searching with emphasis on we instead of me.
What WaggleForce is Not:
- A recruiting service or placement firm.
- A meet-greet-and-gripe group.
- A guarantee for employment.
- A replacement for individual action and accountability in the job search.
Why WaggleForce is Successful:
- We work together in “community” so that job seekers are no longer isolated in their job search.
- We hustle, work hard, and hold each other accountable.
- We maintain a confident, hopeful, positive, value-added attitude.
- We celebrate successes, no matter how small or large.
- We serve each other and the community as a whole.
- We focus on our members’ unique talents to find opportunities that make the most of their skills and become a voice/source that will help get them hired.
